The Birth of FHD
Birthed in the humble confines of a New York City studio apartment, the beginnings of FHD came about as a materialized expression of love and conflict. The very first FHD bag was a testament to a mesh of art and design, highlighting functional utilitarian design in conjunction with the meticulous process of creating a work of art.
Crafted primarily in the very material that many fine artists use to bring paintings to life, the bags are a symbolic representation of the potential that designers and artists have in creating together. Although we are essentially a handbag brand, FHD aims to highlight artistic collaborations within the design realm and inspire artists and designers to create outside their comfort zones.

Embodied both physically and symbolically, FHD materiality plays a crucial role in achieving balance between luxury and functionality. Crafted in a mix of heavy weight cotton canvas, nylon ripstop, and a variety of trims, FHD products offer both elegance and durability in their design. The emphasis on canvas bodies plays on the idea of representing the artist’s starting point for a work of art, whereas the nylon ripstop and trims provide a contrasting reference to functionality and practical design. With the design intent to create quality, wearable works of art, the craftsmanship and materiality of our products ensure the realization of unique, durable, and stylish products.
